The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has rapidly initiated preparations for recruiting teachers in state government schools. Reports indicate that there are 60,000 vacant posts across schools under the Basic Education Council: 11,508 in urban areas and 48,000 in rural areas. Basic education comprises two distinct cadres—urban and rural. There are 11,508 vacancies for assistant teachers in urban schools, details of which have already been submitted to the Commission offline. Meanwhile, approximately 48,000 posts are vacant in schools falling under the rural cadre; this information is currently being transmitted to the department, with the data being uploaded to the online e-requisition portal.

**Recruitment Details**
Under this recruitment drive, approximately 60,000 teaching positions are to be filled:

*   48,000 posts will be filled in rural schools.
*   11,508 teaching positions will be filled in urban schools.

It is worth noting that there has been no recruitment for the rural cadre for a long time; the last recruitment drive for teachers in rural cadre schools took place in 2018. The recruitment notification is expected to be released soon, and candidates will be able to apply once it is issued.

**Potential Exam Pattern**
Changes to the exam pattern may be observed this year. The exam will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is expected to last at least two hours. The examination is likely to be held by September.

**Age Limit**
Candidates must be at least 21 years old to apply for this recruitment, with an upper age limit of 40 years. However, a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit will be granted to candidates who are natives of Uttar Pradesh and belong to OBC, SC, or ST categories, as well as to female candidates.
