Actually, in this important match played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka A won the toss and decided to bat first. The team scored a big score of 322 runs after losing 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Avishka played a century innings
Opener Avishka Fernando batted brilliantly for Sri Lanka. Facing 97 balls, he scored a brilliant 110 runs with the help of 13 fours and 1 six. Avishka gave a strong start to the team with her century and took the score forward rapidly. Every shot from his bat put pressure on Afghanistan’s bowlers.
Niroshan Dickwella also performed brilliantly
Along with him, the other opener Niroshan Dickwella also performed brilliantly. Dickwella played an important inning of 65 runs with the help of 12 fours. Both the batsmen made a strong partnership of 133 runs in 99 balls for the first wicket and pushed the Afghanistan bowlers on the backfoot. Faridoon Dawoodzai took maximum 4 wickets for Afghanistan, but he could not stop Sri Lanka from reaching a big score.
Afghanistan-A team completely scattered
Afghanistan-A team, which set out to chase the big target of 323 runs, completely faltered. The team was all out after scoring only 219 runs in 42.5 overs and lost the match by 103 runs. Afghanistan’s batsmen looked helpless in front of the Sri Lankan bowlers and kept losing wickets continuously.
Hasan Isaakhil played a struggling innings for Afghanistan. He scored the maximum of 74 runs in 78 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. However, his innings could not lead the team to victory and he did not get much support from the other end. Apart from Ishaakhil, no Afghan batsman could reach a half-century. Six batsmen of the team could not even cross the 10-run mark, out of which two players returned to the pavilion without opening their account.
Brilliant bowling by Dulaj Samuditha
Dulaj Samuditha bowled brilliantly for Sri Lanka. He performed brilliantly and took maximum 5 wickets and completely destroyed Afghanistan’s batting. Kughathas Mathulan also supported him well by taking 3 wickets. Ravindu Fernando and Vijaykant Viakant got 1 wicket each, due to which Afghanistan’s innings ended quickly.
Now cricket lovers are eagerly waiting for the title match between India-A and Sri Lanka-A. This exciting final match will be played on 21st June (Sunday) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. The match will start at 10 am Indian time. In this big match, all eyes will be on the 15-year-old young batsman of the Indian team, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav has played four matches in the series so far, but has not scored a single half-century from his bat yet. He has scored a total of 117 runs in 4 innings at an average of 29.25. It will be interesting to see how Vaibhav performs in the final, as a big innings is expected from him.
