Arsenal appear to have won the race for a young talent who has drawn attention from clubs across Europe.

Reports suggest that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Leicester City sensation Jeremy Monga.

The teenage winger made his Premier League debut in April last year at just 15 years old and went on to feature regularly for the Foxes in the Championship during the following season.

Despite Leicester City suffering consecutive relegations, Monga’s displays have stood out. Arsenal are among several European clubs said to have been closely tracking the 16-year-old’s progress.

Arsenal enjoyed a remarkable 2025/26 campaign, clinching their first Premier League title since 2004 and reaching the UEFA Champions League final, although they were defeated by Paris Saint-Germain.

Manager Mikel Arteta is already planning for the long term, with the Gunners not only pursuing Monga but also targeting 17-year-old Georgian prospect Andria Bartishvili.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal faced stiff competition to secure the Leicester youngster but seem to have emerged victorious, with the report claiming that Monga has agreed to join the Premier League champions.

The two clubs are reportedly preparing to begin negotiations over a compensation package for the teenager, with the final deal expected to be worth between £10 million and £15 million.

TEAMtalk adds that Monga has chosen Arsenal despite strong interest from other top clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea, all of whom attempted to hijack the deal.

The England Under-19 international will not turn 17 until July 10, when he becomes eligible to sign his first professional contract with Leicester City, hence the need for a compensation agreement between the two sides.

The report also mentions that Monga was keen for Leicester to receive a fair financial return upon his departure, acknowledging the club’s significant role in his development.

Monga made seven substitute appearances in the Premier League towards the end of last season and featured 37 times in total for Leicester, netting once in a 2-1 loss to Preston North End last August.

Should his move to Arsenal be finalised, Monga would join a promising group of young talents at the Emirates Stadium, including 16-year-old Max Dowman and 19-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Interestingly, Monga and Dowman have played together for England Under-19s multiple times early last season, despite being only 16 and 15 years old respectively at the time.
