Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police busted an interstate drug trafficking operation, arrested two individuals and seized 51 grams of MDMA worth Rs 1.53 lakh in Secunderabad.
Acting on a tip-off about the sale of illegal drugs, the Secunderabad District Task Force (DTF) conducted a raid at an apartment in the Rasoolpura area, leading to the arrest of two accused, identified as M Prajapati and Harendra. Both hailed from Rajasthan and confessed to running an interstate drug trafficking ring, police said.
During interrogation, they revealed that the MDMA was purchased in Rajasthan for Rs 1,000 per gram and smuggled into Hyderabad, where it was being sold at a heavily marked-up price of Rs 3,000 per gram.
A motorcycle and cellphones were seized as well. The arrested individuals and narcotics were handed over to the Secunderabad Excise Station for further legal proceedings.
