Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly reached out regarding a potential transfer for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, after the Spanish giants set a €60m (£52m) valuation on the Frenchman. As per Spanish publication SPORT, Real Madrid are open to parting ways with Camavinga this summer, a decision that manager José Mourinho is said to have endorsed.
Both Manchester United and Liverpool have conveyed their interest, while Chelsea are also closely monitoring developments around the French international’s future.
For United and Chelsea, this represents a rare opportunity in the transfer market to sign a young, versatile, and trophy-winning midfielder from one of Europe’s elite clubs.
Camavinga, now 23, has already lifted multiple major honours with Real Madrid. Known for his adaptability, he can operate as a defensive midfielder, as a box-to-box player, and even fill in at left-back when required.
Real Madrid’s willingness to sell appears to be part of their broader squad overhaul. Mourinho has already begun reshaping the team, and the club continues to explore further midfield reinforcements.
If Madrid plan to finance moves for players like Enzo Fernández or other high-profile targets, letting go of a valuable squad member such as Camavinga could make financial sense.
Once considered a cornerstone for the future at the Santiago Bernabéu, Camavinga’s influence has waned over the past two seasons. A combination of injuries, squad rotation, and frequent changes in his role have hindered his ability to secure a consistent starting position.
Under new manager Michael Carrick, Manchester United are seeking greater energy and technical proficiency in the middle of the park.
Chelsea, on the other hand, could regard Camavinga as a shrewd reinforcement should they reshape their midfield this summer.
Liverpool’s interest is also understandable, given their ongoing search for more dynamism and balance in central midfield areas.
The key factor, however, may be Camavinga’s own stance. Reports indicate that the 23-year-old is not particularly eager to depart and remains hopeful of re-establishing himself at Madrid.
At this stage, the situation is not yet a fully developed transfer. Nevertheless, with a £52m price tag, Camavinga could soon emerge as one of the most appealing midfield options available on the market — provided Real Madrid genuinely open the door to offers.
