Oppo Reno 16 Series— To intensify the battle for the mid-premium segment in the Indian smartphone market, tech company Oppo has announced the official launch date of its brand new Oppo Reno 16 series. The company on Thursday officially confirmed that this upcoming smartphone lineup will be launched in India on July 2, 2026 at 12:00 noon. Under this much-awaited series, initially two handsets are being launched in the market, which have been named Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16c. These devices will be available for customers on e-commerce platforms Amazon, Flipkart and official online and offline stores of Oppo.

Oppo Reno 16: Powerful camera system with three 50-megapixel sensors

Along with the announcement of the launch date, Oppo has also unveiled the main camera specifications of both its new phones. The main attraction of this series is its photography hardware. The standard model i.e. Oppo Reno 16 has a triple rear camera setup at the back.

• Primary Lens: 50-megapixel main camera sensor for crisp and clear photos.
• Telephoto Portrait Lens: 50-megapixel special telephoto camera, which will come with 3.5x optical zoom and 85mm equivalent focal length. It is capable of taking great portrait shots without any distortion (image tearing).
• Ultrawide lens: 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter to capture wide frames.

On the other hand, Oppo Reno 16c will get dual rear camera setup, in which the main and ultrawide cameras will remain the same, but telephoto lens will not be provided in it. Dual Flash System has been used in both the models for better performance in low light.

Special features and new ‘Oppo Bubble’ accessory for content creators

For selfie lovers, both the smartphones have a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera on the front, which offers 100-degree field of view. This time, keeping in mind the vloggers and video creators, the company has supported 4K 60fps HDR video recording on all three lenses – ultra-wide, main and telephoto. Apart from this, advanced tools like AI Remix Collage, Pop Cam and Dual-View Video 2.0 have been included at the software level.

Three premium color options and great design

Oppo has retained its identity in terms of look and design. The new series is designed with 3D Pop Planet Design, which gives a unique three-dimensional visual effect on the back panel. This lineup will be made available for sale in India in three beautiful colors – Starry White, Stellar Purple and Twilight Violet. Talking about the display of the phone, Reno 16 is expected to have a 6.32-inch and Reno 16c is expected to have a slightly larger size 120Hz AMOLED screen, which will come with excellent brightness levels.
