A very wonderful and relief news has come out for the retired teachers and principals of Uttar Pradesh. The UP government has given permanent relief to the Guruji people retiring from government and aided secondary schools of the state from a huge mental and financial problem. Now these elderly teachers will not have to face the compulsion of repeatedly visiting the doorstep of District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) offices for payments of their hard-earned money i.e. pension, GPF and gratuity.
The government has made it clear that after retirement, teachers should get their due money without any delay. For this, not only has the entire process been expedited, but the government itself is adopting a very strict stance in this matter. The government has directly tightened its grip on the departmental officers and has sought complete information about the pending cases, so that the problem of deliberate or negligent delay in payment can be eliminated forever.
Government is strict on the cases of retired teachers, full report sought from officials
To make this entire system smooth, the Secondary Education Department has come into full action mode. The department has issued strict instructions to all the district school inspectors and regional officers of the state and has sought complete details of the matters to the payment of retired teachers. Now the higher officials will have to clearly tell the government as to how many pension and gratuity cases have been successfully settled in their districts so far and how many cases are still gathering dust in the files i.e. are pending.
In this episode, the focus has been specifically on the principals and teachers who retired during the academic session 2025-26. Officials have been instructed to provide complete information about the current status of pension, GPF and gratuity payment to retired employees in this session to the department as soon as possible in a prescribed format. This strictness of the government has created panic among those officers who used to sit suppressing the files.
Pension and other facilities will be available on time, Additional Chief Secretary’s strict stance
Taking this matter seriously, Additional Chief Secretary of Secondary Education Department, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma has given instructions to the officials in blunt words. He has said that all payments to retired employees should be completed within the time limit at any cost. The main objective of the government is to ensure that the teachers who have spent their entire lives in shaping the future of children do not have to face any kind of unnecessary trouble or mental harassment for their own financial matters and rightful money after retirement.
Necessary guidelines have also been issued to the Director of Secondary Education to smoothly implement this system on the ground. Now the reports coming from each district will be reviewed in detail, so that it can be known in which districts the work is being done at a fast pace and where laxity is being done.
Lakhs of teachers of UP will get direct benefit from this
This welfare and strict initiative of the government will provide maximum relief and benefit to those thousands and lakhs of teachers of Uttar Pradesh, who were waiting for a long time for the benefits of their pension and other funds after retirement, the bureaucracy of the offices and the completion of the complex paper process. After this continuously increasing monitoring and strict stance of the department, it is now fully expected that there will be unprecedented speed in the payment process. This effort of the government is really commendable, which makes it clear that retired teachers will be able to get the benefits of their rights without any hindrance, without any bribe and with complete ease.
