Poha Cutlet is considered to be a good combination of taste as well as nutrition. Poha, potatoes and vegetables are used in it, making it a healthy snack. Its taste increases even more with hot tea during the rainy season. Let us know its easy recipe.
Ingredients to make Poha Cutlet
- 2 cups thick poha
- 2 boiled potatoes
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 finely chopped green chilli
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- salt as per taste
- 2 tbsp corn flour or rice flour
- bread crumbs as required
- Oil for frying or shallow frying
How to make Poha Cutlet
Step 1: Prepare Poha
First of all, wash the poha with clean water and leave it for 5 minutes. When the poha becomes soft, remove its excess water. Keep in mind that the poha should not be too wet, otherwise the cutlets may break.
Step 2: Prepare the mixture
In a large bowl, add soaked poha, mashed potatoes, onion, green chilli, ginger, coriander, red chilli powder, garam masala, chaat masala and salt. Mix all the ingredients well and prepare a soft mixture.
Step 3: Shape the cutlets
Now add corn flour or rice flour to the mixture. This will bind the cutlets. Take small portions from the prepared mixture and make them round or oval shaped cutlets. If you want, you can wrap them in bread crumbs, which will give extra crispy texture.
Step 4: Fry the cutlets
Heat oil in a pan. Shallow fry the prepared cutlets on medium flame until they become golden and crisp on both sides. If you want a healthy option, you can also make them in the air fryer.
method of serving
Serve hot poha cutlets with green chutney, tomato sauce or curd dip. This snack will double the taste with evening tea.
