Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced that the state government will deposit Rs 9000 crore in the accounts of farmers in nine days under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. He appealed to the farmers to grow paddy varieties recommended by the government due to less rainfall.
Hyderabad (Telangana) [भारत]June 30 (ANI): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced that the state government will deposit Rs 9000 crore in the accounts of farmers in nine days under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

In view of the drought situation due to less rainfall, the Chief Minister appealed to the farmers to cultivate the seven high-yielding varieties of paddy recommended by the state government in these difficult conditions. Addressing a public meeting after releasing Rythu Bharosa funds into farmers' accounts today, the CM said adequate funds have been made available for Rythu Bharosa and good quality paddy seeds are also available on 'Rythu Vedika' (Farmers' Platform).
Revealed the 'misdeeds' of the previous government
According to an official release from the Telangana Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the Chief Minister exposed the "misdeeds" committed by the previous government and spoke about the welfare of farmers in the last 30 months. "Janta's government waived off loans worth Rs 20,000 crore of 25.35 lakh farmers," the CM said, according to the release. As soon as we assumed office, we paid Rs 7,000 crore under the 'Rythu Bharosa' scheme and also cleared the dues left by the previous administration in the Civil Supplies Corporation in 2023. We have increased the 'Rythu Bharosa' amount to Rs 12,000 and till now farmers have "We have deposited Rs 27,000 crore in the accounts of the farmers. Till now, we have spent Rs 1,75,000 crore on the welfare of farmers. The previous BRS government had spent only Rs 2,000 crore."
Furthermore, CM Revanth Reddy claimed that it was the Congress that had started the supply of free electricity to farmers. The release said that free electricity is the identity of the Congress Party. The then former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy had signed the order to implement free electricity as well as waive off electricity dues on the very day of assuming the post of CM. The Chief Minister expressed strong objection to BRS's statement on free power supply. The CM warned that women would beat BRS leaders with brooms if they claimed "free electricity is their gift". So far, the government has spent Rs 30,000 crore on free power supply, Rs 4,000 crore on bonus for good quality paddy and Rs 3,500 crore on farmer insurance. The Chief Minister challenged the BRS for a special assembly session on farmers' issues and asked to debate on what the previous government had achieved in ten years and what the present government had achieved in two and a half years. Since assuming office on December 7, 2023, the government is making every effort to turn agriculture into a celebration and help farmers live with self-respect.
KCR government accused of drowning the state in debt
According to the CMO, CM Revanth Reddy hit out at the KCR regime for leaving economically prosperous Telangana a "debt-ridden state". "The total debt availed by Telangana during the tenure of leaders ranging from Prakasam Pantulu, Bezwada Gopal Reddy, and Burgula Ramakrishna Rao to Kiran Kumar Reddy was only Rs 69,000 crore. When Telangana was formed on June 2, 2014, the outstanding debt was only Rs 69,000 crore. By the time the Janata government was sworn in on December 7, 2023, The state's debt had reached Rs 8,11,000 crore."
"The KCR family alone took loans of more than Rs 7 lakh crore, plunging the state into a deep debt trap," the Chief Minister alleged. He said, "After the Congress came to power, we discovered the huge debt incurred by the previous government by borrowing from every source. During the BRS regime, the state was left in such a pathetic condition that salaries of government employees were paid in instalments. Now, the Congress government is paying salaries on time despite facing financial challenges."
The Chief Minister criticized the KCR government, saying it "did not pay" the dues of school children's uniforms and other bills. Sarpanches owed crores of rupees, and some of them committed suicide. Sarpanches, MPTC and ZPTC protested. He said, "We cannot call ourselves Nawabs just by wearing Sherwani. We are not Nawabs. We are paupers." Women of self-help groups who cooked food for school children were not paid. Mess charges and cosmetic allowances were not given to the students living in hostels. The CM remarked, "We have restored respect in the society and are taking a devastated Telangana towards progress."
Targeted on 'Kaleshwaram' and liquor policy
Continuing the attack on KCR, CM Revanth Reddy said the previous government failed to waive off farm loans up to Rs 1 lakh, did not give three acres of land to Dalits and did not provide irrigation facilities to one crore acres. Despite spending Rs 1.02 lakh crore on Kaleshwaram, it collapsed within two years and became 'Kuleshwaram' (a ruined structure). Even without a drop of water from Kaleshwaram in three years, Telangana farmers produced 2.8 crore metric tonnes of paddy.
"KCR also destroyed existing cultures and promoted the culture of alcoholism. While we started 'Rythu Bazaars' (farmers' markets), KCR started 'Belt Shops' (illicit liquor shops). KCR has even made children alcoholics," the CM said. He appealed to KCR to stop making tall claims. The people of Telangana have already confined KCR to the farmhouse. Nobody wanted KCR to come back to power. The CM said that the previous BRS government had left outstanding dues of Rs 8,000 crore to retired employees. Under the Congress rule, RTC has made profits of Rs 1,000 crore and has also brought Singareni into profit. We are also resolving the issues by abolishing 'Dharani' and introducing 'Bhu-Bharti'.
According to a release, the CM warned that if KCR returns to power, the BRS leader will do nothing except listen to private conversations between the husband and wife. One should be ashamed to listen to the conversation between husband and wife. Even KCR's own daughter had mentioned listening to her parents' private conversations. It seems that there is a curse on the Kalvakuntala family that if they speak the truth, their heads will break into a thousand pieces. He said, "I have already imprisoned Pashupati in the farmhouse just like the demon was done in the film Arundhati."
BJP and PM Modi also attacked
The Chief Minister took a sharp dig at BJP national president Nitin Nabi's comment that the BJP will come to power in Telangana in the next elections. CM said, "PM Modi had promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the account of every poor and promised to provide 2 crore jobs every year. 24 crore jobs should have been created. Did this happen? In Telangana, [भाजपा] Gave posts only to Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy."
'This government is not the property of Dora'
CM Revanth Reddy took a dig at BRS leaders demanding resignation and dissolution of the government. "This government is not a 'carriage or dora's property' to resign", the Chief Minister said, adding that he would not run a government built on the foundation of lies. The Musi Rejuvenation Project, Regional Ring Road and Metro Rail expansion will be carried out despite all obstacles created by the opposition.
According to the release, the CM highlighted that his government is providing free bus travel to women in RTC buses and has so far paid Rs 11,000 crore to the RTC. Women groups were made the owners of 1,000 buses, facilitated to set up 1,000 MW of solar plants by women self-help groups and also given petrol bunks enabling them to compete with Reliance. Allocated land worth Rs 1,000 crore for stalls run by women self-help groups in Shilparamam.
“We have provided 70,000 jobs in the last 30 months,” the CM said. CM questions BRS for opposing the notification to fill 5000 posts in the police department. The Chief Minister said, "I have no desire to wear the crown or accumulate vast wealth and jewels; power is not permanent." Quality 'Bathukamma' sarees were provided. CM said that it is the responsibility of the farmers to protect this government. (ANI)
