NEET-UG 2026 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the evaluation process for the NEET-UG 2026 answer sheets (OMR sheets). The NTA had previously released the provisional answer key for NEET-UG 2026 and invited objections from candidates regarding the questions and options. The deadline for submitting these objections was June 28. Reports indicate that the NTA received 10,000 objections concerning the provisional answer key. Following the completion of this initial phase, the NTA has now commenced the evaluation of the NEET-UG 2026 answer sheets.

Let us understand the situation in detail. We will look at how the NTA plans to address the objections received, how many questions are suspected to be incorrect, and when the NEET-UG 2026 results might be declared.

**Addressing Objections and Releasing the Final Answer Key**
The NTA had released the provisional answer key for NEET-UG 2026 and invited objections as part of its standard procedure. Now that objections have been received, the evaluation of the answer sheets (OMR sheets) has begun. The received objections will undergo a careful review; based on this assessment, necessary changes will be made, and the final answer key will be released. The final results are expected to be declared the day after the final answer key is published.

**Re-examination on June 21 Following Paper Leak**
The NEET-UG 2026 exam was originally conducted on May 3. Although the NTA released the provisional answer key on May 6, a paper leak incident came to light in the interim, leading to the cancellation of the exam held on May 3. In this sequence of events, the NEET re-examination was conducted on June 21. More than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the re-exam at 5,440 centers across the country and 14 centers abroad.

Uproar over two questions; bonus marks for one!
Following the release of the NEET UG 2026 provisional answer key, experts have indicated the likelihood of one question being dropped. TV9 Bharatvarsh Digital spoke to Vinod Kumawat, a NEET expert at a private coaching institute in Kota. He stated that there was a controversy regarding two questions in the Physics section. For a question on EM waves, two options are correct; candidates who selected either of these two options will receive marks for it. The second question concerns the Vernier caliper; all its options are incorrect, and the question has been dropped. Students will receive bonus marks for this question. Since the question itself is flawed, all candidates will be awarded bonus marks.
