France international Michael Olise is one assist away from matching a FIFA World Cup record held by Brazilian legend Pelé.
The 24-year-old winger provided two assists in France's 3-0 victory over Sweden in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, taking his tournament tally to five assists.
According to Opta, only Pelé has recorded more assists at a single World Cup since 1966, when assist statistics began being compiled. The Brazilian registered six assists during the 1970 FIFA World Cup, while Olise now sits one behind with five.
France will face Paraguay in the Round of 16 on July 4, where Olise will have the opportunity to equal—or surpass—Pelé's long-standing mark.
