Leeds United forward Lukas Nmecha could soon find himself facing his brother Felix in a Premier League clash, as reports suggest that Manchester United have shown interest in signing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

According to The Athletic, Manchester United have made enquiries regarding Felix Nmecha, who appeared 42 times for Borussia Dortmund last season. The 23-year-old midfielder extended his contract with the Bundesliga side until 2030 earlier this March.

Lukas Nmecha joined Leeds United last summer on a free transfer after parting ways with VfL Wolfsburg. Alongside fellow free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin, he contributed significantly to Leeds’ attacking performance, helping the team net 20 Premier League goals, with six coming from his own boots.

At the World Cup, Felix featured in every match for Germany. He was instrumental in the 7-1 triumph over Curacao, scoring once and providing an assist, and later added another assist in the 2-1 win against Ivory Coast. However, Germany’s campaign ended in disappointment when they were eliminated by Paraguay in the round of 32 after a dramatic penalty shootout earlier this week.

The Nmecha brothers both began their football education at Manchester City before reuniting at Wolfsburg in 2021. Felix later transferred to Borussia Dortmund in 2023. The siblings have faced each other twice in the Bundesliga, with Felix and Dortmund emerging victorious on both occasions. In total, they have played together 28 times since their early days in Manchester City’s youth academy.
