LPG Rates Today: Prices for commercial cylinders were reduced yesterday; a cut of ₹183.50 was implemented. Now, domestic cylinder consumers are awaiting a price reduction.
LPG Rates Today (July 2): Providing relief to the business community, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹183.50 yesterday, July 1. Prices had been raised last month due to supply disruptions caused by escalating tensions in West Asia. The new rates came into effect on July 1, 2026. Following the price drop for commercial cylinders, domestic consumers are also hopeful for a reduction in rates.
What is the current price of a commercial cylinder?
After the reduction of ₹183, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has come down to ₹2,930, while the rate in Mumbai is ₹2,884. In Kolkata, the price is ₹3,072, and in Chennai, it is ₹3,099.
Concerns regarding the movement of oil tankers and cargo through the Strait of Hormuz had mounted due to the conflict involving Iran, the US, and Israel, and the resulting tensions in West Asia. As this is a crucial route for global energy shipments, supply disruptions caused the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi to rise from ₹3,071.50 in May to ₹3,113.50 in June.
Domestic cylinder prices today:
Delhi – ₹942.00
Noida – ₹939.50
Mumbai – ₹941.50
Chennai – ₹957.50
Kolkata – ₹968.00
When will domestic cylinder prices decrease?
State-owned oil companies review gas prices on the first of every month. If crude oil prices in the global market remain stable or decline further over a prolonged period, these companies might implement a price cut during the next review meeting in August. However, there has been no official announcement regarding this so far.
