Tezzbuzz Desk- While on one hand the monsoon season brings comfort and coolness, on the other hand it also increases the problem of washing and drying clothes. Due to continuous rain and lack of sunlight, clothes sometimes do not dry even for two days, due to which they become damp and smell bad. In such a situation, the risk of skin allergy and fungal infection may also increase. But by adopting some easy home remedies you can dry your clothes faster.
Why do clothes dry late in the rain?
Due to lack of sunlight and hot air, moisture remains in clothes for a long time. This is the reason why clothes take more time to dry in monsoon than normal days. But by adopting the right methods this problem can be reduced to a great extent.
Remove excess water from clothes thoroughly
The most important step after washing clothes is to remove excess water from them. If you have a washing machine then definitely use spin mode. When washing by hand, squeeze the clothes thoroughly to remove as much water as possible, this reduces the drying time considerably.
dry quickly with a towel
If the garment is too wet, wrap it in a dry thick towel and press gently. The towel absorbs excess water, making the clothes significantly drier and lighter.
Dry faster with fan air
In the absence of sunlight, dry the clothes in a room where there is good air flow. By running the fan continuously, the air circulates around the clothes and the moisture reduces quickly. This method is considered very effective in monsoon.
Keep enough distance between clothes
Many people hang clothes close together to save space, but this does not allow proper ventilation. It is important to keep some distance between each cloth so that air can reach from all sides and the clothes dry quickly.
use hangers
It is better to hang clothes like shirts, T-shirts, kurta and dresses on a hanger instead of folding them on a rope. Due to this, more part of the clothes remains in contact with air and they dry quickly.
Iron when there is slight moisture
If there is some moisture left in the clothes, they can be ironed at a lower temperature. This also removes the remaining moisture and the clothes feel completely dry.
It is difficult to dry clothes during the rainy season, but not impossible. If you adopt the right methods like towel pressing, fan wind and use of hangers, then even without sunlight, clothes can dry faster and smell or dampness can be avoided.
