Polestar is preparing to withdraw from the U.S. market due to the U.S. government’s Connected Car Rule, which effectively restricts operations for the Swedish-origin but largely Chinese-owned automaker. However, the brand is not leaving quietly. For buyers willing to take a chance on a marque that will soon disappear from American showrooms, Polestar has launched a clearance event that’s difficult to overlook.
Originally highlighted by Jalopnik, these offers are substantial. Cash buyers can enjoy a massive $25,000 discount on the Polestar 4 or $23,000 off the Polestar 3. To put that into perspective, the Polestar 4 starts at $57,800, and with the $25,000 deduction, the effective price drops to just $32,800 for a premium electric vehicle that blends sedan, hatchback, and crossover characteristics. The Polestar 3 carries a higher sticker price, but with the discount applied, its base variant costs around $45,900.
That said, finding units at those exact prices might prove challenging since most available cars are equipped with additional features and packages. The incentives aren’t limited to cash transactions either. Buyers can finance through Polestar at 0 percent APR and still receive an $18,000 credit on the Polestar 4.
Attractive leasing options are also available. The Polestar 4 can be leased starting at $399 per month for a 39-month term with $1,000 payable at signing. Meanwhile, the Polestar 3 lease begins at $579 per month for 27 months, requiring a $5,000 down payment. Both lease plans include an annual mileage limit of 7,500 miles, with extra charges applicable for exceeding that threshold.
Additional savings can be combined with these offers. Polestar is granting a $1,000 loyalty bonus for those purchasing or leasing a Polestar 4. The Polestar 3 offers even greater incentives, featuring a $4,000 loyalty bonus or a $2,000 conquest bonus applicable to both buyers and lessees.
These promotions are valid until July 31, providing potential buyers a month to consider whether to invest in one of these vehicles. Given Polestar’s close affiliation with Volvo, owners can expect at least some continuity in service and support for the foreseeable future. However, the long-term outlook for Polestar vehicle maintenance and assistance within the U.S. remains uncertain.
