Lionel Messi continues his mission to defend the World Cup crown as Argentina take on Mo Salah’s Egypt in a thrilling knockout encounter.

The Argentina versus Egypt clash brings together two legendary figures of world football — in the blue corner stands Lionel Messi, and in the red corner, Mo Salah.

Messi, who turned 39 last month, has been in dazzling form throughout the 2026 World Cup, netting seven goals in four appearances as he spearheads Argentina’s campaign to retain their title.

On the other side, Egypt’s captain Salah, aged 34, has also played a decisive role in guiding the Pharaohs beyond the group stage for the first time and securing their first-ever knockout victory, achieved against Australia in the round of 32. The stage is set for a captivating contest in Atlanta — here is the full line-up of ITV’s broadcast team.

The list of pundits, presenters and commentators for the Argentina versus Egypt match, which kicks off at 5pm BST, has now been confirmed.

Mark Pougatch will anchor the live coverage of this last-16 fixture from ITV’s modern studio in Brooklyn, New York. He will be joined by an experienced and popular trio of pundits.

Former England forward and widely admired broadcaster Ian Wright features on the panel, bringing his insight from a distinguished career that saw him score 185 goals for Arsenal and earn 33 caps for England.

Although Wright never featured in a major international tournament due to injury, he sits alongside a man who represented the Three Lions at three European Championships and two World Cups.

Gary Neville, capped 85 times for England, has established himself as one of the most respected voices in football analysis through his work with ITV and Sky Sports.

Completing the studio line-up is Neville’s former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane.

The outspoken Irishman played for the Republic of Ireland at the 1994 World Cup in the United States, though he famously left the squad prior to the 2002 tournament following a dispute with then-manager Mick McCarthy.

Providing commentary from the gantry will be seasoned broadcaster Jon Champion, who brings decades of experience to the microphone.

He will be accompanied once again by co-commentator Ally McCoist, the former Scotland striker who featured at the 1990 World Cup.

The winner of this tie will meet either Switzerland or Colombia, whose match begins at 9pm BST tonight, in the quarter-finals. That last-eight fixture is scheduled for a 2am BST kick-off on Sunday.
