Kalaburagi (Karnataka) [भारत]July 8 (ANI): A police constable on duty inside a police van deployed at Jagat Circle in Kalaburagi allegedly shot himself dead, police said on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Shivakumar, who was posted as a constable in the City Armed Reserve Unit.
Police Commissioner gave information
Kalaburagi City Police Commissioner Sharanappa SD told ANI, 'Police constable Shivakumar, working in the City Armed Reserve, shot himself in a police van deployed at Jagat Circle.' Based on initial information, the officer said, 'It seems that he has decided to sacrifice his life due to personal reasons.'
A forensic team was sent to the spot. Sharanappa SD said, 'We are present at the spot with the forensic team.'
He indicated that a formal investigation would be conducted when the family comes forward with a complaint and more information. The commissioner said, 'Whatever complaint the family gives, we will register a case on it and investigate it.' Further details are awaited. (ANI)
