Friends, the world’s most popular instant messaging app is WhatsApp, which has more than 4 billion users all over the world, the company brings new features for its users, the company is bringing one such feature, after the arrival of which it will be easy for the users to find out which person in their contacts is currently active on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is testing a feature in which users will see a green dot along with the contact’s name. This feature is already available on platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.

WhatsApp New Feature: Online Status will be known without opening the chat

Currently, to see the online status of a person on WhatsApp, one has to open the chat window. But after the introduction of the new feature, users will not need to open chat again and again.

In this feature:

A green dot will appear below the contact’s profile photo.

Green Dot would mean that the person is currently active on WhatsApp.

If the Green Dot is not visible, it means that the user is not online.

Initially this feature will be available only on the Contact Info Page, which opens after clicking on someone’s profile photo.

In future, the company can also make it available on Chat List or Conversation Screen.

Privacy will be taken care of in WhatsApp Green Dot Feature

WhatsApp will also take care of users’ privacy with its new Online Indicator feature. Users will have the option to hide or show online status as before.

If a user has hidden his/her Online Status, then:

Other people won’t see Green Dot next to his name.

Online status will be visible as per its privacy settings.

This feature will work just like the existing WhatsApp Online Status settings.

Feature will come for both Android and iPhone users

According to reports, this new Green Dot feature of WhatsApp was first seen on Android devices. Now its testing has been started for iPhone users also.
