Mumbai is not new to monsoon floods and wildlife sightings after heavy rains. Every year, the capital of Maharashtra transforms into a city of misty lakes, overflowing with waterfalls. But this year, Powai Lake has become the talk of the town.

The reason? Mugger crocodile.

Social media is full of videos showing the crocodile, following days of heavy rainfall. This has drawn curious Mumbaikars and tourists wanting to catch a glimpse of one of the city's most fascinating wild residents. As per forest officials, the reptiles are moving closer to the shoreline because of rising water levels. The usual basking areas are submerged, making sightings more frequent.
