CM Dhami gave strict instructions regarding Badrinath Dham offering controversy, formed investigation committee, employee suspended

The dispute to calculation of donations and offerings in the famous Shri Badrinath Dham of Uttarakhand has now become a legal matter. In fact, following the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government has constituted a three-member high level committee to investigate the entire incident. Besides, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has also taken action at its level and suspended the concerned employee and filed a police complaint against him. The investigation of the case is progressing at several levels.

Actually, according to the temple committee, this matter is to the irregularities that came to light during the calculation of donations and offerings on July 2, 2026. After receiving the initial complaint, a show cause notice was first issued and then an internal inquiry was conducted. Based on the initial findings of the investigation, disciplinary action was taken against the employee and he was suspended with immediate effect. After this, the legal process has also been started by registering an FIR with the police.

The investigation committee will submit the report within 15 days.

The three-member committee constituted by the state government will be headed by Garhwal Division Commissioner Anand Swaroop. Managing Director of National Health Mission Sandeep Tiwari and Director (Finance) of Medical and Health Department Jagat Singh Chauhan have been made members in the committee. The government has instructed the committee to conduct a detailed investigation of the entire matter and submit its report within 15 days.

In fact, the investigation will not be limited only to the truth of the allegations. The committee will also have to review the entire system of donations and offerings. This will include examining the existing process of receiving donations, counting, maintaining records, security arrangements and accounting. If any technical expert or other officer is needed during the investigation, the committee will also be able to take their cooperation.

Police investigation also started after FIR

Along with the government investigation, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has also taken independent action. The committee first conducted a departmental inquiry against Pramod Nautiyal, personal assistant posted in the Speaker’s office. In the preliminary investigation, considering the allegations as serious, he has been suspended. In fact, after this, on the complaint of the committee, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and started investigation.
