Google Pixel 11 Launch Confirmed: Made by Google Event Set for August 12
Samira Vishwas | July 10, 2026 3:24 PM CST

The Google Pixel 11 launch date is official. Google confirmed its next Made by Google hardware event will take place on August 12, 2026, in New York City, according to invitations sent to media outlets, like The Verge. The Verge was among the first to share one. In a break from its usual schedule, the show begins at 6 PM ET, replacing the usual midday keynote with an evening slot.

A golden hint in the invitation

Google rarely sends out a launch invite without slipping in a tease, and this one follows the pattern. The email includes a brief animation of a gold-colored phone from the Pixel 11 family, a strong sign that a new signature shade is on the way.

For context, last year’s Pixel 10 event was on August 20 and featured Jimmy Fallon with a live studio audience. The base and Pro models hit shelves on August 28. If Google keeps that rhythm, preorders should open on launch day, with retail availability before the month ends. This year’s date is a week earlier than last year’s, suggesting Google wants a head start on the fall flagship season.

What the leaks say about the Google Pixel 11 design

Don’t expect a dramatic reinvention. As we noted in our earlier Pixel 11 design leak coverage, CAD renders shared by Android Headlines suggest slimmer bezels than on the Pixel 10 and a fully blacked-out camera bar that gives the rear a cleaner, more uniform look.

The Pixel 11 Pro is tipped to be slightly thinner than its predecessor, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold could slim down too and adopt a redesigned camera bump. The base model is expected to keep its 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and its battery capacity is edging toward 5,000mAh.

Then there is the wildcard: Pixel Glow. Since a glowing camera strip flashed across the screen during the Google I/O 2026 keynote, rumors suggest the Pixel 11 Pro could have interactive LED lighting around its camera bar. We covered this in our Pixel 11 Pro Pixel Glow report. Google hasn’t confirmed anything, but August 12 is when we’ll find out.

Tensor G6, a brighter display, and a possible price hike

The launch date was echoed by tipster Shishir Shelke on X, who also shared what to expect from the Pixel 11 series: a new Samsung M16 OLED panel with higher brightness, the 2nm Tensor G6 chip, a MediaTek M90 modem, a Titan M3 security chip, and upgraded camera sensors.

Two more details stand out. Every model reportedly starts at 256GB of storage, and reports point to higher prices, with European figures rising by roughly 100 euros over the Pixel 10 family. These are leaks, not confirmations, so hold every spec loosely until Google says it on stage.

The chip is the part worth watching. A 2nm Tensor G6 would mean significantly faster on-device AI. With Gemini now central to Google’s pitch, the Pixel 11 series is shaping up to be the company’s most AI-forward hardware yet.

How to watch, and what to watch for

For readers in India, set your alarms: the 6 PM ET start translates to 3:30 AM IST on August 13. As always, expect the keynote to stream live on the Made by Google YouTube channel.

What we still need answered on stage: official specs, pricing for every model, India availability, and whether Pixel Glow is real hardware or just a clever animation—five weeks to go.
