EPFO Update: The EPFO has launched the new 'EPFO 2.01' portal. This makes PF transfers automatic in many cases and simplifies services such as balance checks, claims, transfers, and pension-related tasks.

EPFO 2.01 Launch: There is great news for EPFO members. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has launched 'EPFO 2.01', a new version of its Unified Member Portal. The primary objective of this new system is to make PF-related tasks more efficient, faster, and fully digital compared to the past. A key highlight is that, upon changing jobs, the PF transfer process will become automatic in many instances, eliminating the need to fill out separate transfer forms.

According to the government, this new system marks a significant step toward making EPFO services fully digital and smart. It enables millions of members to access services—such as PF balance checks, claims, transfers, and pension details—on a single platform.

What has changed with EPFO 2.01?

Under EPFO 2.01, a single central database (or computer system) has been created for the entire country. Previously, records were maintained across various regional offices, but the system has now undergone a complete overhaul. All member data is now consolidated into an integrated system, allowing members to easily handle PF-related tasks through any EPFO office.

What is the benefit for those changing jobs?

If you change jobs and your PF account is linked to your Aadhaar, your existing PF balance will be automatically transferred to your new account. You do not need to fill out a separate PF transfer form, nor do you need to obtain approval from your previous or current employer. This makes the transfer process significantly smoother and easier than before.

New features related to claims and UAN

The system will automatically verify documents before a claim is submitted.
You will be instantly notified via SMS or the portal regarding any discrepancies or errors. You can also check how much PF you can withdraw and for what purpose.
If you have forgotten your UAN, you can retrieve it through the portal.
