The survey of more than 11,000 respondents, released by travel booking platform Klook on July 8, found that 71% of Singaporean travelers cited financial concerns as their biggest obstacle to travel, the highest share among the 10 markets surveyed.
Rather than reducing the number of trips, Singaporeans are adjusting their travel habits to cope with rising costs.

Nearly half (47%) look for deals and discounts, 46% book earlier to secure lower fares, and 31% revisit familiar destinations while choosing more affordable accommodation.
“Cost-consciousness is changing how Singaporeans travel, not whether they travel,” Sarah Wan, general manager of Klook Singapore, said in a press release as cited by The Straits Times.
“They’re traveling smarter, not less, while planning more intentionally, seeking better value, and choosing experiences that matter most.”
Japan, China and Vietnam remain the three most popular destinations among Singapore travelers, according to the survey.
