IIT BHU Vacancy: IIT (BHU) Varanasi has initiated the application process for non-teaching recruitment. A total of 16 posts will be filled across departments such as Administration, Technical, Library, System Analyst, Institute Works Department (IWD), Official Language (Rajbhasha), and Sports. Interested candidates can apply online via the SAMARTH portal from July 11 to August 10, 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill various assistant-level and management-related positions at the institute.

What are the application criteria?

Assistant Registrar | Master’s Degree (55%) + 5 years of administrative experience
Senior Technical Officer | M.Tech/PhD + 5–8 years of experience
Technical Officer | Degree in a relevant subject + 4–7 years of experience
Library Posts | PG in Library Science + experience; NET/SLET required for Assistant Librarian
System Analyst | BE/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech + 4–10 years of experience
Executive/Assistant Executive Engineer | Engineering Degree/Diploma + 3–8 years of experience
Hindi Officer | PG in Hindi/English + 5–8 years of translation experience
Chief Sports Officer/Sports Officer | PG in Physical Education/Sports Science + 5–6 years of experience

What is the application fee?
Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹500. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories, as well as all female candidates, are completely exempted from the application fee; meaning, candidates in these categories do not have to pay any fee.

How will the selection take place?
Selection will be based on a screening test, written examination, group discussion, presentation, and/or interview, depending on the specific post. Merely meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee participation in the selection process. The institute reserves the right to further tighten selection criteria if necessary and may prioritize candidates with superior qualifications and experience.
