Ingredients of Sindhi Sai Bhaji
– 1 cup chana dal
– 1 bunch spinach leaves
– 1 potato (peeled and chopped)
– 1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
– 1 carrot (peeled and cut into cubes)
– 15-18 cauliflower (flower part)
– 3 medium sized tomatoes (finely chopped)
– 1 inch piece of ginger (grated)
– 2 green chillies (finely chopped)
– 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 3 tbsp oil
– 1 tsp whole cumin
– 6-8 garlic cloves
– 1 red chilli
– salt as per taste
– Lemon slices and a small chopped tomato for garnishing
How to make Sindhi Sai Bhaji
Boil the lentils with turmeric and salt and keep aside. Wash the spinach thoroughly, chop it finely and boil it lightly. Heat one and a half cup of water in a pan and add spinach, potato, onion, carrot, ginger, green chilli, turmeric powder and salt and cook. After some time, add cauliflower and let the vegetables cook until they become soft.
When the vegetables are cooked, mash them lightly and add boiled lentils and cook for two minutes. Heat oil in a separate pan, add cumin, chopped garlic and whole red chilli and fry until golden. Mix this tempering in the lentil-vegetable mixture and cook till it comes to a boil. Garnish the prepared bhaji with lemon slices and chopped tomatoes and serve hot.
