Now you will not have to wait for days for delivery when the LPG runs out. Just as people order grocery, milk or other essential items within a few minutes, similarly now LPG cylinder can also be ordered home on-demand through mobile app.
Taking a big step in this direction, Swiggy Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). Under this, for the first time in the country, on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service is being started through quick-commerce platform.
Swiggy Instamart will do home delivery of gas cylinder
With the growing scope of digital delivery services, home delivery of LPG is also going to become a part of the quick-commerce model. Swiggy Instamart in collaboration with HPCL has announced to launch on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service for the first time in the country. With this initiative, consumers will not have to depend on the traditional delivery process for gas cylinders and will be able to order instantly as and when required through the app.
This facility of Swiggy Instamart will start from Bengaluru for now, after which there are plans to expand it to other cities in a phased manner. Under the new system, consumers will not have to wait for traditional booking and delivery of gas cylinders. If the household cylinder suddenly runs out, customers can go to the Swiggy Instamart app and order an LPG cylinder in the same way as they order groceries or other household items. The company says that delivery will be done within a few minutes through the quick-commerce model.
New cylinder launched in the market
With this partnership, HPCL has also launched its new 10 kg composite LPG cylinder ‘HP Navya’ in the market. This cylinder is lighter than conventional steel cylinders, does not rust and its transparent design also helps in viewing the gas level. It has been designed keeping in mind the needs of small families, people living in rented houses and urban consumers.
Cylinder available even without connection
There will be two options available on the app for customers. They will be able to order new 10 kg ‘HP Navya’ cylinder, while 5 kg Chhotu LPG cylinder can also be ordered. It will not be mandatory to have a traditional domestic LPG connection to avail this service. Due to this, people taking cylinder for the first time or staying temporarily will also be able to get this facility.
