A very shocking case has come to light from America, where a 30-year-old software engineer of Indian origin has been arrested for murdering his wife. According to the police investigation, the accused first tried to make the incident look like an accident, but forensic investigation and digital evidence changed the entire story.

After investigation that lasted for about 9 months, the police have registered a case of murder against the accused. Investigating agencies claim that the accused had a long-term love affair with an Indian woman and this case emerged as an important link in the murder investigation.

According to Bellevue Police, on October 27, 2025, 30-year-old Avinash Narne called the emergency number and said that his wife Rajita Sabbineni, 27, was locked in the bathroom and was not opening the door. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and broke the bathroom door. Inside, Rajita Sabbineni was found dead on the floor. The medical team declared him dead on the spot.

2. During initial interrogation, Avinash Narne claimed that he had gone out of the apartment for about 40 minutes for some important work. According to him, upon his return he found his wife locked in the bathroom and informed the police when the door did not open despite several attempts.

3. The activities in the apartment were analyzed during the police investigation. The authorities did not find any evidence to prove that any other person had entered the house during the absence of the accused. From here the direction of the investigation changed and the police started a thorough investigation of the case.

4. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office released the autopsy report the day after the incident. The report clarified that Rajita Sabbineni died due to suffocation due to strangulation. After this the case was officially declared a murder.

5. According to the investigating agencies, Avinash Narne had a relationship with a woman living in India for many years. Police claim that during this period, on June 5, 2025, he had an arranged marriage with Rajita Sabbineni. Investigation also revealed that the accused’s alleged girlfriend was also present at his wedding.

6. According to officials, even after marriage, Avinash Narne and his alleged girlfriend remained in constant touch. The digital records found in the investigation are said to be important evidence confirming this connection.

7. Police investigation revealed that on the day of the incident, Avinash Narne had called his girlfriend at least four times. These calls also include the time when he told the police that he was trying to open the bathroom door. The investigating agencies also claim that the accused had also sent the picture of his wife’s dead body to his girlfriend.

8. During the investigation, the police found many text messages from Rajita Sabbineni’s mobile. In these messages she complained several times that the beverages prepared by her husband tasted bitter. In a message sent to her husband on the day of her death, she wrote that the smoothie tasted like medicine.

9. After the completion of the investigation, a case of first degree murder was registered against Avinash Narne on July 5. According to officials, if proven guilty, the accused may be sentenced to life imprisonment.

10. At present the accused Avinash Narne is in judicial custody. Authorities have set his bail at US$5 million and further legal proceedings in the case are ongoing.
