New Delhi: After the US attacks intensified, Iran has given a warning that will shake the world in retaliation. Iran has said that if America "aggressive actions" If it does not close it, it will completely close the Strait of Hormuz. Besides, other routes carrying oil and gas from Gulf countries will also be targeted. Iran has a clear message – oil exports from the Gulf will either be open for everyone, or not for anyone.

What did IRGC say on ‘Operation Lightning’?

The army’s statement appeared on Iranian state TV on Wednesday. It said that the seventh phase of ‘Operation Lightning’ has been started in response to the American attacks. The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps IRGC said in the statement that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the US stops the attacks. IRGC warned that if the US does not stop, other alternative waterways of the Gulf will also be targeted.

IRGC says, "America has put the world’s oil and gas exports in danger by blocking the Indian Ocean route. In such a situation, we will close those avenues through which America and its allies are benefiting."

However, IRGC did not clarify which other routes apart from Hormuz it would close. But "for all or none" The line below indicates that there are preparations to stop the supply in the entire Gulf.

Why is Hormuz so important?

About 20% of the world’s oil and a large amount of LNG passes through the Strait of Hormuz. This is the main export route for Saudi, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Iran. If it stops, global energy prices could jump immediately. America had recently attacked Greater Tunb Island and other military bases of Iran. In response to that, Iran has adopted this tough stance.

Civilians injured in the attacks increased

Iranian Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said that more than 260 Iranian citizens were injured in the attacks that took place from Tuesday night to Wednesday. This number is more than any recent attack. The Iranian army announced on state TV that it "Decisive answer to this action of America" Will give.

impact on global market

After this threat from Iran, the possibility of rise in crude oil prices in the international market has increased. This route is a lifeline for Gulf countries and Asia-Europe. If other routes including Hormuz are closed, the supply chain will be directly affected.

Right now there is no possibility of talks between the two countries. The US is intensifying attacks and Iran is talking about blocking energy routes in retaliation. The whole world is keeping an eye on what the next step will be.
