Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has no interest in joining Fenerbahce during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Reports from the Turkish media had suggested that Fenerbahce were keen on signing Rashford from Manchester United. The Turkish Super Lig side have already secured the signature of former United forward Mason Greenwood earlier this summer, and were said to be eager to reunite him with Rashford.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Fenerbahce’s transfer activity is far from over. The report stated: “The Yellow Canaries’ latest target is Marcus Rashford. After completing the deal for Greenwood, football director Cihan Kamer and football manager Oguz Cetin travelled from Marseille to Manchester. It is understood that official talks with Manchester United regarding Rashford will begin soon.”

The publication further added: “Fenerbahce are set to open formal negotiations for the star player, who is reportedly not part of Manchester United’s current plans. The Turkish club are eager to reach an agreement with the English giants as quickly as possible. If a deal is reached with the Red Devils, discussions with Rashford, who is currently competing at the World Cup, will proceed immediately.”

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has firmly denied that Rashford is considering a move to Turkey. The Italian journalist also dismissed rumours that Fenerbahce have made any approach for the England international winger.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained: “There have been many reports, but my information is that there is absolutely nothing between Marcus Rashford and Fenerbahce. There are no negotiations or conversations taking place. With all due respect to Fenerbahce, Rashford is not thinking about a move to Turkey at this point in his career.”

Romano went on to add: “Rashford is currently focused on the World Cup. Once the tournament concludes, he will review his situation with Manchester United. He is expected to begin pre-season training with United. From what I understand, Michael Carrick is keen to work with Rashford during pre-season. He wants to observe his mindset and performance before making a decision on whether Rashford will remain or depart in August.”

Romano concluded: “As things stand, there is nothing concrete happening with Fenerbahce. No deal is close, and no discussions are underway. Rashford will take part in pre-season with United, and only after that will it become clear what the future holds.”
