America News: A hateful young man entered the shopping mall and asked the employee there for his name, on hearing the answer the madman attacked him with a knife. This dreadful case is a hate crime and happened in Utah, America.

An Indian youth, who was going about his daily business in a local shopping mall, was fatally attacked just because of his religion. The attacker first asked his name and as soon as he came to know that he was an Indian Muslim, he brutally stabbed him 15 times with a knife.

I broke down on hearing the name

This hate crime has happened with a person named Sohail, who works in ‘Valley Fair Mall’ located in West Valley City, Utah. Like everyday, Sohail was busy in his work, when a 48 year old man entered the mall, his name is Peter Michael Larson.

Luna Nunez, who works in a nearby jewelery store, saw this horrifying scene with her own eyes. He told that accused Larsen first started talking to Sohail in a very normal manner. He asked Sohail, ‘Where are you from?’ Sohail replied, ‘I am from India and my name is Sohail’. After this the accused asked, ‘Are you a Muslim?’ As soon as Sohail said ‘yes’, the accused without wasting a moment attacked him with a knife.

More than 15 stabs with a knife

Accused Larsen was so blinded by hatred that he stabbed Sohail with a knife 15 times one after the other. Eyewitness Luna Nunez said, ‘He was continuously attacking Sohail with knives, I was afraid that Sohail would not survive. To save him, I started throwing everything that came to hand, shoes, chair, at the attacker.

Before the police could reach the spot, some brave customers and employees present in the mall, fearing for their lives, caught the accused Larsen from behind. They overpowered him by throwing him on the ground and holding him down until the police arrived. If people had not intervened, it would have been impossible to save Sohail’s life.
Sohail was immediately taken to the hospital in a very critical condition, where he underwent several surgeries. Sohail is currently fighting for his life and his condition remains critical.

‘My only aim is to kill Muslims’ said the accused

Police have arrested the accused Peter Michael Larson and put him in Salt Lake County Jail. He has been charged with serious charges of attempt to murder and possession of banned dangerous weapons.
The revelations that have come from the court documents are extremely shocking and frightening. During police interrogation, accused Larsen himself confessed that he deliberately targeted Sohail because he was a Muslim. He coldly told the investigators that ‘my only aim is to kill Muslims’.
Investigating officials say Larson poses a serious threat to the general public due to his violent ideology and pre-planned mass murders. Eyewitnesses also said that before the attack, Larson was roaming around the mall asking other people about their religion.
