Lucknow: Amidst the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi controversy in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, an old video of Maulana Jarjis Ansari is again going viral on social media. In the video, Maulana is seen making some such claims about Lord Krishna, on which controversy has arisen. After his statement, many Hindu organizations have expressed strong objection and demanded legal action and arrest against him.
What is the whole matter?
In the viral video, Maulana Jarjis Ansari claims that Lord Krishna was a Muslim and he used to offer namaz five times a day. In support of his argument he also mentioned a verse from Srimad Bhagavad Gita. Along with this he also said that if Hindus study their religious texts deeply then they will like the principles of Islam.
Demand for action from the administration regarding the matter
However, religious scholars and many experts say that the verse mentioned by Maulana was not interpreted in the correct context. This verse is verse 10 of Chapter 6 of Bhagavad Gita, in which it is said about yoga practice, self-control, meditation in solitude and keeping the mind fixed on God. There is no mention of namaz or Islam in the verse.
After Maulana’s statement went viral, Hindu organizations have described it as hurting religious sentiments. Organizations say that attempts are being made to spread confusion in the society by misinterpreting religious texts. He has demanded the administration to investigate the matter and take appropriate legal action.
Old video mentioned
It is being told that this video is not recent but old, which is once again being shared rapidly on social media amid the controversies to Shri Krishna’s birthplace.
