Beauty and personal care (BPC) manufacturer Naturis Cosmetics has raised ₹100 Cr (around $11.8 Mn) in its Series A funding round led by Sharrp Ventures, with participation from Mirabilis Investment Trust, Anicut Capital, Niveshaay and angel investors including Hyperscale Ventures’ Suyash Saraf, XYXX Apparel’s Yogesh Kabra, among others.
The startup intends to use the fresh capital to set up a new 225,000 sq ft production facility in Gujarat’s Vapi, open an experience centre in Delhi NCR and establish a new R&D centre in Mumbai. It also plans to scale its team and expand into adjacent categories like men’s grooming, body care, fragrances, among others, over the next five years.
Founded in 2011 by Rahul Tandon, Sanjay Mehra, Nukul Mehra, and Dhruv Mehra, Naturis Cosmetics provides contract manufacturing facilities to brands across D2C, FMCG, and OTC pharma. It specialises in formulating skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance, personal care, and pharmaceutical products spanning R&D, formulation IP, manufacturing, packaging, and private-label capabilities.
The Mumbai-based manufacturer currently works with over 50 brands, including Pilgrim, Purplle, Nykaa, Asaya, Hoop, Colorbar, Innovist’s Bare Anatomy, Kay Beauty, and Antinorm, among others. It has also partnered with Glenmark and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories for developing new-age OTC and cosmeceutical products.
The funding comes at a time when the BPC space is expanding at a rapid pace with the entry of multiple new-age D2C brands. As per a Redseer report, India’s BPC market is projected to become the world’s fourth-largest and reach $40 Bn by 2030.
Leading this growth are not just listed houses of brands like Honasa Consumer and Nykaa, but independent brands with targeted offerings and made-for-India products. Their popularity has also resulted in rising interest and acquisitions from FMCG giants looking to tap into digital-first consumers.
That broader tailwind has also lifted demand for backend manufacturing and formulation partners as more D2C brands scale up and expand product portfolios. Naturis’ fundraise highlights the rising institutional interest in businesses enabling India’s D2C stack, not just companies selling directly to consumers.
