A viral image claiming to show an Instagram story by Indian actress Alia Bhatt circulated widely on social media after Alpha received a weak response at the box office. However, the screenshot was later found to be fake.
The image claimed that Alia had responded to online criticism with strong remarks about awards, tomb 2and the trolling she had faced after the film’s release. The alleged post quickly spread across several social media platforms.
A review of Alia Bhatt’s official Instagram account found no such Story. There was no sign that the Jigra actress had shared the message shown in the viral screenshot.
The text in the fake image included statements such as, “Meri film ko flop bolne vaalo…” and “Mera baap bhi mera kuch nahi bigaad sakta.”Despite being widely shared, the message did not appear on Alia’s verified account.
The incident came shortly after another edited social media post involving Kangana Ranaut also went viral. That image falsely claimed she had commented on films including Toxic and Gehraiyaan. It was later identified as fake as well.
Meanwhile, Alpha had continued its theatrical run. According to reports, the film collected around ₹85 lakh on its 12th day and its total domestic earnings reached about ₹55.20 crore.
The film, directed by Shiv Rawail, reportedly had a budget of ₹100–130 crore. Reports stated that its box office performance remained below expectations.
Alia Bhatt is expected to appear next in Love & War and tomb 2both of which have already been announced.
