In a major action, Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi has suspended three women councilors of Delhi Municipal Corporation from the party. The names of the three women councilors who have been suspended are Nirmala Devi (Sharma), Krishna Devi Raghav and Sultana Aabad. Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj gave all this information through social media post.
Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken strict action against indiscipline and anti-party activities.
Aam Aadmi Party today, Thursday 16 July 2026, through its official statement and formal letter of the party, announced that Nirmala Devi (Sharma), Krishna Devi Raghav and Sultana Aabad are suspended from the party with immediate effect. Information about the suspension of these three councilors has been given in the official letter issued by the party.
BJP on Wednesday won the post of president in 10 out of 12 ward committees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and won five out of six seats in the standing committee of the corporation.
The move comes amid efforts to maintain discipline within the party in Delhi’s civic body. The party has not yet made any further comment on this matter.
