Getting children to focus on their studies can be a challenging task for parents. Often, despite putting in significant effort, children fail to perform well academically, and parents tend to attribute this to the children's own shortcomings or the teachers' methods.
According to Vastu principles, however, certain items kept in the home—or specifically in the child's study room—can create *Vastu dosha* (energetic imbalances), hindering the child's ability to concentrate. These factors can ultimately cause children to lag in their studies.
The home environment and Vastu play a crucial role in how well a child can focus on their studies. While parents often emphasize study schedules and textbooks, it is equally important to make specific adjustments to the study room itself. Here are some items that should be avoided in the study area.
**Do not keep a broken clock in the study room**
Ensure that the clock in your child's study room is never broken or stopped. A non-functional clock can negatively influence a child's mind, thereby affecting their academic performance.
It can distract the child from their studies and create obstacles to their progress. Since a stopped clock can disrupt the surrounding energy (aura), it is essential to replace it immediately if it breaks.
**Avoid keeping artificial plants**
You should never place artificial plants in your child's study room, as they can have a negative impact on the child's life.
The energy emitted by such plants can adversely affect a child's mind, making it difficult for them to concentrate on their studies. Additionally, you should avoid keeping thorny plants in this area. These are considered sources of negative energy and can divert a child's attention away from their studies.
**Do not keep broken toys**
You should never keep broken toys in the child's study room. Vastu principles suggest that broken toys harbor negative energy; consequently, keeping them in the study room can prevent the child from focusing effectively on their studies. Therefore, you should not keep such items in the study room or on the study table.
Do not keep electronic devices
You should never keep electronic devices in children's study rooms. Doing so makes it difficult for children to concentrate on their studies, and this directly impacts their academic results.
Sometimes, parents even install a television in the study room, causing children to focus on the TV instead of their studies. You should avoid doing this at all costs, as it could cause the child to fall behind academically.
If there are any such items in your child's study room, it is best to remove them immediately so that the child can focus on their studies.
