Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s time at Olympique de Marseille has come to an end once again.
Seeking to lighten their wage structure, Marseille officially announced on Friday evening that their striker has completed a transfer to Deportivo La Coruña.
According to multiple media outlets, the French club is expected to receive approximately €1.5 million from the move.
Aubameyang’s journey with Marseille will undoubtedly leave mixed emotions behind. His first stint was remarkable from an individual standpoint, even though the team endured a disappointing season overall. The second spell followed a similar pattern.
Although the Gabonese forward was less efficient in front of goal and had to shoulder a heavy workload following Amine Gouiri’s injury, he occasionally struggled with sharpness in finishing. Nevertheless, he managed to deliver a memorable highlight with his brace at home against Olympique Lyonnais.
Despite the ups and downs, Aubameyang’s commitment and professionalism were never in doubt, and his exit marks the end of another chapter in his long and eventful European career.
