IAF Recruitment 2027: The Indian Air Force has announced recruitment for the post of Musician. Candidates from all states and Union Territories across the country are eligible to apply. Selection will be conducted through a recruitment rally. Eligible and interested candidates can submit their applications at agnipathvayu.cdac.in from July 20 to August 2.
The recruitment test will be held at two locations: 2 ASC C/O Race Course Camp, Air Force Station New Delhi; and 7 ASC, No. 1 Cubbon Road, Bengaluru (Karnataka). Interested candidates must report to the respective centers on the scheduled dates to participate in the recruitment process.
What are the educational qualifications?
For the Agniveervayu (Musician) recruitment, candidates must have passed the 10th (Matriculation) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. Candidates must have acquired this qualification with the minimum required marks by the date of registration.
Proficiency in music is essential
Candidates must possess a good understanding of music and be capable of singing a complete song with correct rhythm, pitch, and tempo. Additionally, they should have knowledge of staff notation, Tonic Sol-fa, Tablachar, or the notation systems of Hindustani/Carnatic music. Candidates must be proficient in playing at least one of the listed musical instruments; however, preference will be given to those proficient in two instruments.
What is required regarding musical experience?
Candidates must hold a Grade-5 or higher qualification in a musical instrument from a recognized music institute, or a diploma/equivalent certificate in Hindustani or Carnatic classical music. Certificates indicating participation in or awards won at various music competitions and events will also be considered valid.

What does the selection process entail?
Document Verification: Candidates' educational certificates and other essential documents will be verified during the recruitment rally. Original documents or documents verified via DigiLocker must be presented.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT): This will include a 1.6-kilometer run along with physical tests such as push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
English Written Test: This will be a 30-minute objective-type test consisting of 30 questions. The test will be based on the Class 10 CBSE syllabus. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer, and there will be no negative marking. Passing this test is mandatory.
Music Proficiency Test (MPT): A practical test will be conducted to assess the candidates' musical aptitude and ability to play musical instruments. This test may be conducted individually or in groups.
Medical Test: Candidates who successfully clear all stages will undergo a medical examination in accordance with Indian Air Force standards. This will include health checks such as blood, urine, and biochemistry tests, chest X-ray, and ECG.
