Spain has won the FIFA World Cup. Spain defeated Argentina in the final match and won the title. Spain has won the FIFA World Cup 2026 title by defeating Lionel Messi's Argentina 1-0 in the historic final match played at MetLife Stadium. European champion Spain not only won the biggest prize in football but also captured the record breaking prize money given by FIFA. 
On the other hand, with this defeat, Argentina's dream of defending its title won in Qatar four years ago was shattered, but even after becoming the runner-up, the team has got a huge amount of money.

Winner: Spain

The winning Spanish team received a whopping $50 million (approximately Rs. 481 crores). This is the largest prize money ever awarded to any winner in men's World Cup history. This is $8 million more than Argentina won in 2022.

Argentina, runner-up

Argentina, who lost 1-0 in the final, received $33 million (approximately Rs 318 crore) as runners-up. This is $3 million more than the 2022 runners-up, France, received.
