New Delhi . Amidst the ever-increasing tension between Iran and America, a statement by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has become a topic of discussion at the international level. He claimed that even during the conversation with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, there was such an atmosphere where there was a possibility of bombing starting at any moment. His statement has indicated that the diplomatic dialogue between the two countries is progressing under extremely sensitive and extraordinary circumstances.
Araghchi said in an interview that he had asked the US envoy during the conversation whether he had ever taken part in a negotiation where a military attack could begin at any moment. Although he did not clarify which place or which particular round of talks he was referring to, his statement clearly shows the level of mistrust and tension that exists between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister also reiterated that Iran is not going to bow down to any external pressure. He said that Tehran is committed to protecting its sovereignty and national interests and will not allow the experience of any other country to be imposed on itself. His statement is being considered important in the context of increasing US pressure and regional conditions.
There has been contact between Iran and America at different levels for the last several months. Apart from formal meetings, other means of direct communication between the two sides have also been active. During this period, the role of mediator countries also came to the fore in several rounds of talks, but till now no significant progress has been made towards any permanent solution. The constantly changing security situation has further complicated these efforts.
On the other hand, military activities in the area also remain intense. In recent days, America has taken action against many strategic targets linked to Iran. The American side says that this step was taken in response to the attacks on its troops and security interests. After this, Iran also intensified retaliatory military activities towards America’s allies in the region, which has further increased tension in the entire West Asia.
Many countries in the region have activated their air defense systems in view of possible missile and drone attacks. Security agencies are continuously monitoring the situation, while vigilance instructions have also been issued for common citizens. From this it has become clear that the impact of the conflict is not limited to just two countries, but is affecting the security of the entire region.

Experts believe that if diplomatic efforts do not gain momentum, the current tension may become more serious. Maintaining dialogue at such a time is considered to be the biggest challenge for both the countries. The international community is also continuously appealing for restraint and finding solutions through dialogue so that stability can be maintained in West Asia and the possibility of widespread conflict can be avoided.
