Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has given a very big statement. Addressing a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council on Monday, President Pezeshkian said Iran is currently in a state of “total war” with the US. He clarified that this conflict is not limited to military attacks only, but its scope is very wide and the country has to be ready to accept all the consequences of its protest.

Enemies want to stop the country’s progress

Referring to domestic and external challenges, Pezeshkian said that enemies are creating obstacles in the way of the country’s progress and progress. They do not want to see any independent, powerful and successful Islamic country in the region. He said that to counter these conspiracies, it is most important to solve the internal problems of the country and maintain mutual unity. He stressed that there should be coordination and a common approach among all parties to deal with the current crisis.

Clear stance on talks and national interests

The President defended Iran’s negotiating position, saying that the country has not compromised on its core interests, principles and revolutionary values in the recent agreements. He said that there was no such clause in the agreements signed with America which gave one-sided benefit to the American side. Along with this, he acknowledged that following this path that protects national interests will have to pay some price, which the country will have to accept. Referring to the leaders who were his opponents during the presidential elections (like Ghalibaf and Zakani), he also praised them for working together with the government in the interest of the country.

Sharp reaction from America and Ghalibaf

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf took a sharp jibe at the social media platform ‘X’ by questioning the deployment of US troops. He said that on one hand America is bringing new military equipment to the region and on the other hand it is talking about peace. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai has confirmed that backchannel messages have recently been exchanged between Washington and Tehran through third-party intermediaries, although he held the US solely responsible for the current military clashes and tensions.
