Bihar 551 Model Schools Saffronization: In an important decision, the Bihar government has decided to paint 551 model schools of the state in saffron colour. Along with this, the name of these schools was changed to ‘Saraswati Vidya Niketan’. Has been done. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated it on Sunday, July 19. Speaking at the programme, CM said that the 551st Saraswati Vidya Niketan was inaugurated in Begusarai, the birthplace of poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, which is the beginning of a new era in the field of education.

According to CM Samrat Chaudhary, many modern facilities will be provided in these schools. Students will get a chance to study through e-library and smart classroom. Along with this, students will also be given the facility of free coaching for preparation of examinations like JEE and NEET.

‘Saffronisation’ of model schools; controversy over

During the inauguration program, the Chief Minister said that we are upgrading government schools with modern facilities, so that students of government schools can get facilities like private schools. Rural and economically weaker students should also get equal opportunities for education. However, when the opposition attacked the government over saffronisation and renaming of model schools, Janata Dal United, which is part of the NDA government, has also expressed its concern.

JDU also expressed concern along with the opposition.

Responding to this decision of the new government of Bihar, BJP state vice president Santosh Pathak said that this color has been chosen keeping in mind energy and positivity. The opposition is only politicizing the important changes being made by the government. At the same time, Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari says that instead of large-scale educational reforms taking place in the state, the opposition is seeing RRS in everything.

What did JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar say?

According to a report by Indian Express, former CM Nitish Kumar’s party has also expressed concern over the saffronization of model schools in the state. JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that education has no color. It should only be in accordance with the spirit contained in the Preamble of the Constitution and not with any particular color on the school walls. Expressing another concern, he said that the name of the person who donated the land for the school is ‘Saraswati Vidya Niketan’ are being written below. However, ideally the names of the people who donated the land for the school should be written before the new name.

According to a report in India Today, a principal of the Model School said that the school building has been asked to be painted saffron as soon as possible. However, earlier there were no specific rules regarding school colors. In recent times most of the schools have been painted pink. Earlier, the headmaster of the school had complete freedom to decide the colour. But, now it has been clearly stated in the letter of the Education Department that the color of all model schools should be the same.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Subodh Kumar Mehta said that we were already aware of this. This is the beginning of saffronisation of education. This is the RRS model of education. When the BJP led government in Bihar decided to change the name of model schools to Saraswati Vidya Niketan, we got a glimpse of the agenda of the Sangh. Apart from RJD, Congress has also attacked the government. The party spokesperson said that BJP is an expert party in changing colors.
