OPSC Recruitment 2026: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has invited applications for the recruitment of 436 posts of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon and Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon. This recruitment will be conducted under the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department. Interested candidates can apply online from July 24, 2026, to August 24, 2026 (up to 5:00 PM).
Candidates will be selected based on a written examination scheduled for September 26, 2026. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary at Level-12, in accordance with the ORSP Rules, 2017, amounting to ₹56,100.

What are the application criteria?
Candidates must possess a BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry) degree from a recognized university/institution.
Candidates who obtained their degree abroad must hold a recognition/equivalence certificate issued by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
Candidates must possess a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Veterinary Practitioners Act, 1970.
Age limit: 21 to 47 years (candidates must not have been born before January 2, 1979, or after January 1, 2005).

Candidates belonging to SEBC/SC/ST categories with a disability of 40% or more will be granted a 10-year relaxation in the maximum age limit.
What is the application fee?
Candidates belonging to the General and other categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹700, whereas candidates from the SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories are exempted from the application fee. Candidates must pay the prescribed fee at the time of submitting their application forms.

**Salary Details**
Selected candidates will receive an initial monthly salary of ₹56,100. This salary is determined in accordance with Level-12, Cell-1 of the pay matrix under the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017. Additionally, candidates will be entitled to other allowances as per the applicable rules.
