Mama-Bhanja Dargah in Thane district of Maharashtra is in controversy. Now the Forest Department has taken bulldozer action on this disputed Dargah. Let us tell you that the Dargah Trust had filed a petition for relief, but the court had rejected it, after which this action has been taken. The controversy regarding the Dargah built on the hill of Wagle Estate in Thane is not stopping.

After the order of the High Court, bulldozer action was taken by giving an ultimatum of 24 hours. Muslim society has declared the Dargah as legal. It is claimed that this Dargah is built on Forest Department land. Its trust is said to be 60 years old. The Forest Department took action on the construction of the Dargah built on ‘Mama-Bhanja’ hill in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Thane.

As soon as the High Court rejected the petition of ‘Hazrat Peer Mama-Bhanja Dargah Trust’ regarding the matter, the Forest Department and the police together took this action. The administration removed construction without permission in 561.6 square meter area on reserved forest land.

A large police team including Riot Control Force (RCF) has been deployed to maintain law and order and the situation is completely under control. People said that there was an argument with the Forest Department team regarding the matter. Let us tell you that this matter is under discussion for the last 3 days.

According to a local citizen, the 376th Urs of this Dargah was recently celebrated. This Dargah is present in Indira Nagar Wagle Estate. From here the gate of the Dargah opens to go up the hill. He said that this Dargah has been there since the time when there was no forest here.
