Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A case of death of 12 people has come to light due to rain and flood in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. 18 people are also said to be injured in separate incidents. At present, the weather department has predicted more rain. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has advised the local people to be cautious and not to come out of their homes. Let us tell you that 14 houses have been damaged in different incidents.

Officials said on Tuesday that the situation went out of control in Pakistan’s north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to sudden heavy rains and floods. During this period, at least 12 people died and 18 were injured in separate incidents. Five children were also among the dead. According to the report of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), these deaths occurred due to the collapse of roofs and walls of houses and people being swept away in the flash floods. The dead included 6 men, 5 children and 1 woman. The injured include 8 men, 2 women and 8 children.

According to the information, these incidents were reported from Peshawar, Khyber, Mardan, Buner, Bajaur, Lower Chitral, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Torghar and Kurram districts. According to PDMA, a total of 14 houses were damaged due to heavy rains and flash floods. One of these houses was completely destroyed, while the rest were partially damaged. PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administration and other concerned departments were engaged in relief and rescue operations. Director General of PDMA directed the district administration to immediately provide relief material to the affected families.

The report said water levels and flows in all major rivers, streams and waterways in the province remained within normal limits. However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent heavy rains across the province till July 25. The PDMA appealed to people to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from high-risk tourist spots and avoid visiting rivers, streams and flooded roads. Citizens were also advised to follow official weather alerts and safety advice. The authority said that all district administrations have already been put on high alert.
