Leeds United have undergone significant changes to their squad, confirming 11 player exits and two major new arrivals as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign. Manager Daniel Farke is shaping a new-look team for the challenges ahead.
The Whites will begin their Premier League season against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with the match scheduled for a 3pm kick-off on Saturday, 22 August. Before that, the squad will travel to the United States this week for a pre-season tour, where they are set to face Wrexham, Sunderland, and Liverpool in friendly fixtures.
Among the players leaving Elland Road, Isaac Schmidt has been sold to Young Boys for an undisclosed amount believed to be around £2 million. Pascal Struijk has completed a transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £18 million, with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons. Goalkeeper Karl Darlow has joined Manchester United on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Leeds.
Illan Meslier has also departed the club, signing for Arsenal on a free transfer after his contract came to an end this summer. Facundo Buonanotte has returned to his parent club Brighton after completing his loan spell, while Connor Douglas has left Leeds upon the expiration of his deal.
The trip to the United States marks the first major outing for Farke’s revamped squad. However, one crucial issue still remains unresolved as the start of the new season approaches, leaving fans curious about the club’s next move in the transfer market.
