Washington: The United States launched its 11th consecutive night of airstrikes on Iran, escalating tension across the Middle East. US Central Command (CENTCOM) did not disclose the latest targets but indicated operations remain ongoing.

United States President Donald Trump also signaled that Washington is prepared to intensify military pressure rather than return to negotiations.

Pakistan’s Mediation Faces Roadblocks

Amid the growing crisis, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni traveled to Pakistan for talks with Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Islamabad, which previously helped broker an interim ceasefire, urged all sides to exercise restraint and resume dialogue. However, no breakthrough emerged from the meetings.

Strait of Hormuz Remains the Flashpoint

The Strait of Hormuz has become the central battleground in the conflict, threatening one of the world’s most critical energy corridors. Iran continued targeting commercial shipping, while the US increased maritime security operations and redirected several vessels. The ongoing disruption pushed global crude oil prices higher, raising concerns over energy supplies.

Regional Security Situation Worsens

The conflict has spread beyond Iran and the Gulf. Iran-backed Houthi rebels announced a naval blockade targeting Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea, while missile and drone attacks triggered alerts in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and parts of Iraq. Several countries have strengthened air defense and maritime security in response.

Iran Warns Against Attacks on Nuclear Facilities

Tehran warned that any strike on its nuclear or other strategic facilities would be viewed as a major escalation. Iranian military officials said such an attack would prompt retaliation against US interests and those of its regional allies, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
