Manchester United have reportedly made enquiries about forward Ismaila Sarr following his standout performances at the World Cup.

The Crystal Palace attacker impressed for Senegal, scoring four goals in four matches as the Lions of Teranga advanced to the round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup, before being eliminated by Belgium.

This strong international form came after an outstanding domestic campaign with Palace, where the 28-year-old netted 21 goals across all competitions and helped his side lift the Conference League trophy. His consistency and attacking prowess have now drawn the attention of Manchester United.

Sarr has been a key figure for Crystal Palace since joining from Marseille for £12.5 million in August 2024. During his time at Selhurst Park, he has won the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and most recently, the Conference League.

In the 2025/26 season, Sarr’s prolific displays included nine goals in the Conference League, earning him both the Player of the Tournament award and the competition’s Golden Boot.

According to French publication Foot Mercato, several leading European clubs have expressed interest in Sarr, with United among those who have reached out for information about the player.

Although the report suggests the Palace forward is not currently United’s top transfer priority, he remains one of the options under serious consideration for their attacking rebuild.

Sarr has made no secret of his admiration for Manchester United. Speaking to Senegalese media earlier this summer, he said, “My dream club? Honestly, there is only one club. I love Manchester United with all my heart, and I am one of its biggest fans.”

The former Watford winger still has three years remaining on his current deal at Palace, which puts the London club in a strong negotiating position. Reports indicate that Palace value him at around £50 million.

Crystal Palace will compete in the Europa League next season as a result of their Conference League triumph. However, that lure might be overshadowed by the possibility of playing Champions League football with Manchester United.

Manager Michael Carrick is keen to strengthen his squad depth as United prepare to challenge across four fronts. The club have already secured the signings of goalkeeper Karl Darlow and midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer.

While Carrick already has attacking options in Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha, the uncertain futures of Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee mean further reinforcements in attack could still be on the agenda.
