Protest against NEET exam in New Delhi

A new case has come to light amid the ongoing protests against alleged irregularities and paper leaks in the NEET exam. Actress Ayesha Khan was detained by Mumbai Police on Tuesday during a protest organized in support of students. After being detained, Ayesha shared several videos on social media, in which she said that she was standing peacefully on the road, yet the police caught her.

Ayesha Khan’s emotional statement

In a video shared on Instagram Story, Ayesha Khan said emotionally, “My hands are trembling. I was just standing peacefully on the road. I did not raise any slogans or start a protest. My brother and some friends were already detained by the police, so I was standing on the road with my two female friends. Despite this, we were put in a police van.”

Custody charge at Worli Police Station

Ayesha Khan, in a video recorded from Worli police station, said that she had reached the protest site at around 4 pm in support of NEET aspirants and students who committed suicide. They allege that the police took action even before the demonstration started. He said that neither did anyone raise slogans nor show posters or placards. Ayesha said, “Around 15 policemen surrounded me and my two female friends and made us sit in a police van. I kept asking why we were being detained, but no one answered.”
