As a precautionary measure, several major stations of Delhi Metro have been closed from 7:30 am today till further notice. So, those going out for office, college or other important work should check their route before leaving home.

Which metro stations will be closed?

According to Delhi Metro, Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Tirtha, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and Shivaji Stadium will remain closed from 7:30 am till further notice. Only interchange facility will be available for passengers at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations. Entry and exit will not be allowed at these stations.

Earlier, the number of protesters at Jantar Mantar had increased to 3,000 to 4,000 by around 8 pm last night and continued to increase till late night. Meanwhile, according to the police, a large number of “socialists” had gathered there. Some of these protesters first tried to break the barricades and then started pelting stones at the police. Subsequently, the police had to use mild force to bring the violent mob under control.

Five policemen including two ACPs, two inspectors and a constable were injured in the clash. Many protesters were also injured. A crowd gathered in front of the NDMC building on Jantar Mantar, Tolstoy Marg and Parliament Marg in New Delhi. According to sources, the police spoke to CJP leaders Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka to calm the situation, but the crowd did not listen to them either.
