There is a major update for students aspiring to build a career in space science and new technology. The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has invited applications for the ISRO Internship 2026. Through this internship, students will have the opportunity to work alongside ISRO scientists and gain firsthand insight into modern technologies related to space research. Eligible students from engineering, science, and research backgrounds may apply. This program aims to provide practical experience and lay a strong foundation for a future career in science.

Who can apply?
Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the ISRO VSSC Internship 2026. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a regular BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc (Physics or Chemistry), or PhD course at a recognized institution. Additionally, candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.32 (on a 10-point scale) in their academic record.

BE and B.Tech students must have completed their sixth semester, while ME, M.Tech, and M.Sc students must have completed their first semester. Candidates completing their courses after February 14, 2025, are also eligible to apply. However, a student can avail of this internship opportunity only once during the course of a single degree program.

Internship and Selection Process
The duration of the internship will range from 21 to 45 days. As this is a purely training-oriented program, selected students will not receive any stipend or financial assistance. During the internship, students will get the opportunity to work on various projects in ISRO laboratories under the guidance of scientists. Selection will be based on academic qualifications and the number of available seats. Selected candidates will be notified via email. 

Application Process
The online application process will commence on August 14, 2026, at 10:00 AM and remain open until 11:59 PM on September 14, 2026. The internship will be conducted between November 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027. Interested students can apply by visiting the official VSSC website. At the time of application, documents such as marksheets, details of technical skills, project information, and a college permission letter must be uploaded as a single PDF file not exceeding 5 MB in size.
